Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The Circuit Clerk serves as ex-officio recorder and clerk of the civil, domestic relations, criminal, and juvenile courts.
Records in this office include civil case files, criminal case histories, divorce records, child support orders, domestic relations cases, and juvenile court files. Land instruments recorded here include deeds, mortgages, deeds of trust, liens, plats, and notary commissions. Recording fees are $15.00 for the first page and $5.00 for each additional page. Real Property Transfer Tax is $3.30 per $1,000 of value on sales over $100.
New civil or domestic filings cost $165.00. Certified copies run $5.00 per document. Summons fees are $2.50 per person. Records can be searched in person at the courthouse. This office maintains marriage licenses, probate court files, voter registration records, and official county records. Marriage licenses cost approximately $60.00. Both parties must appear together with valid photo ID and social security cards. No waiting period applies for adults 18 and older. The license is good for 60 days from issue date.
Probate records include decedent estate files, guardianship records, and adoption cases. Adoption files are sealed. Probate filing fees are approximately $165.00. The County Clerk also holds quorum court minutes, county court orders, DBA filings, minister credentials, and annexation records. Copies cost $1.00 per page. Certified copies add a $5.00 fee.
