The circuit clerk maintains court records for civil, criminal, domestic relations, and juvenile cases in Sevier County. Divorce filings, child custody matters, and felony criminal cases are all kept here. The office also acts as the county recorder for land documents. Deeds, mortgages, and liens are recorded here. Filing fees for new court cases run $165.00. Recording fees are $15.00 for the first page and $5.00 for each additional page. The county clerk holds marriage licenses, probate records, voter registration records, and DBA business name filings. Marriage licenses cost $60.00. Both parties must appear in person with valid photo identification. No waiting period applies for adults 18 and older. Licenses remain valid for 60 days from the date of issue. Certified copies of marriage licenses are available for $5.00 each. DBA (assumed business name) filings cost $25.00. Probate records for decedent estates, guardianships, and adoptions are also managed here. Adoption records are sealed under Arkansas law.

The assessor appraises and assesses all real and personal property in Sevier County. Real property assessment runs from January 1 through July 1 each year. Personal property must be assessed between January 1 and May 31. A 10% late penalty applies for personal property not assessed by the deadline. Property is assessed at 20% of its market value under Arkansas law. The $600 homestead credit is available for qualifying primary residences. Property owners who are 65 or older or are fully disabled may qualify for a freeze on their assessed value. Appeals on assessed values go to the county Equalization Board.
