Nevada County Circuit Clerk Court Records

The Nevada County Circuit Clerk handles court records for civil, domestic relations, criminal, and juvenile cases. The Western District office is at 215 E. 2nd Street South, Prescott, AR 71857. Court records held here include civil case filings, criminal case histories, divorce records, child support files, and juvenile court documents. The Circuit Clerk also functions as the ex-officio recorder for land records. That means deeds, mortgages, deeds of trust, liens, and plats are all filed and stored through this same office. Recording fees follow the standard Arkansas schedule: $15.00 for the first page and $5.00 for each page after. The Real Property Transfer Tax is $3.30 per $1,000 of consideration on sales over $100.

The County Clerk maintains marriage licenses, probate court records, voter registration, county court records, and official government documents. Marriage licenses cost $60.00 in Nevada County. Both parties must appear in person with valid photo ID and social security cards. There is no waiting period for adults 18 and older. Licenses are valid for 60 days from the date of issue. If either party was previously married, a certified divorce decree or death certificate is required.

Probate records cover decedent estates, guardianships, conservatorships, and adoptions. Adoption records are sealed by law and require a court order. Probate case filing fees run about $165.00.
